Music Performance Trust Fund (MPTF)

The MPTF was established in 1948 by agreement of the AFM and the major recording companies of the day to promote live music performance free to the public. Funded by royalties from the signatory record labels, each AFM Local receives an annual grant allocation making funds available for musicians to play public performances, and in schools and senior facilities. Each year the MPTF sponsors thousands of performances throughout the US and Canada. In addition, a scholarship fund has been established to award grants of up to $2,000 to support children of AFM members in their pursuit of higher education.
